Born into a family of professional musicians in New York City, Serena Canin is an accomplished chamber musician who has performed throughout the United States and internationally.
Canin performs regularly at the Yale School of Music and the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival/Yale Summer School of Music as a member of the Brentano String Quartet, presenting creative programs of works from across history and standards of the classical canon. She also coaches graduate chamber music ensembles.
Canin has held teaching positions at Princeton University and New York University and has taught chamber music to young musicians at the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. She received degrees from Swarthmore College and the Juilliard School, and her teachers have included Burton Kaplan and Robert Mann.
Her performances include Marlboro Music Festival, Festival Internacional de Cartagena, Chamber Music Quad Cities, El Paso Pro Musica, the Mannes Beethoven Institute, Continuum Series at Alice Tully Hall, the Brandenburg Ensemble, Goliard Concerts.
