Juanjo Guillem, born in Spain in 1965, is a solo percussionist, orchestral musician, teacher, composer, and producer – a multifaceted musician committed to current avant-garde music and everything related to contemporary music and percussion. Artistic Director and founder of Neopercusion, the contemporary percussion group, he is also Artistic Director of the cycle of concerts Ritmo Vital, Konekt@rte sonoro, Pleyades, and Agora Actual Percussio in Jávea, near Alicante in Spain. He regularly performs as a soloist with orchestras, in solo recitals or with Neopercussion, and with artists from different disciplines. He teaches masterclasses in Europe, Asia and America. He is Professor at the Centro Superior Katarina Gurska and the Universidad Alfonso X El Sabio, both in Madrid, and Visiting Professor at the Conservatorio Superior de Musica de la Islas Baleares. He is also timbale soloist and percussionist of the National Orchestra of Spain.
