A lunchtime concert at Third Street Music School Settlement: Join distinguished faculty members Inna Langerman, violin, and Joan Forsyth, piano, with percussionist Scott Still for a performance of Native American Portraits by David Amram, Artist Emeritus of The Village Trip. Premiered in 1999, the three-movement work incorporates Cheyenne, Seneca and Zuni melodies shared with the composer by friends from those communities.
The performance will be preceded by a short lecture by David Amram on Native American music and instruments and there will be an opportunity for discussion afterwards.
The concert is open to the public, in addition to Third Street students and families, and is free to attend.
