Matthew Dean Marsh is a composer, performer, and writer based in New York City. Marsh’s collaboration with David Cale, We’re Only Alive for A Short Amount of Time, recently made its debut at The Public and Goodman Theaters, winning the Jeff Award for Best New Musical. He also worked as an associate musical director on Broadway’s Beetlejuice while it was in development. He has collaborated with and/or accompanied artists such as Billy Crudup, Sandra Bernhard, Shaina Taub, and others. Marsh’s original musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet was commissioned by Lincoln Center Education and Psitticus Productions. His original soul-folk adaptation of Mother Courage was commissioned by the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
